In the area east of the cruiseport in Vågen, behind Skagenkaien
and in the area surrounding the hill Søvberget, you will find
most of the shopping in Stavanger and many of the cafes and
restaurants.
What characterizes the area is that most of the roads are
pedestrian and built of old cobble stone. Hare are small
streets, narrow alleys, a viewpoint by Valberg Tower and a lot of
nice places to sit down and have a drink, lunch or dinner.
Here the shops are lined up one after the other, famous
brands and small boutiques, new and old, small and large -
something for everyone.
In the area you will find the famous Fargegaten (the Colour
Street) and the cultural center Sølvberget, named after the hill.
If you are only spending a few hours in Stavanger, this is where
we reccomend to spend it. Here the distance to everything is
short, but where good shoes. High heels and old cobblestone
streets are not a good combination …
