The area Jæren, south-west of Stavanger is known for all
its amazing beaches.
The area stretches from Sola Beach, which is located
close to Stavanger Airport and almost 70 km south
There are a lot to choose from; Orre, Borre, Ølberg,
Rege, Vigdel and Hellestø Beach among others.
In summer the beaches are crowded, but due to the
water temperature you don’t stay in the water very long.
The North Sea has direct access to the beaches, which
keep the temperature low all year.
We definately recommend to rent a car and take a trip
down the Nordsjøveien route, which passes by all the
beaches. Here are small settlements with cafes and
museums.
