If you want to experience a beautiful sunset and the weather
is right, you should visit Sola Beach.
Sola beach is located about 20 minutes with car outside
Stavanger, not far from Stavanger Airport. If you go by car,
pass the airport and drive to Sola Beach Hotel. Next to the
hotel are a lot of parking spaces and only a one minute walk
down to the beach.
Sola Beach is one of the famous beaches of Jæren and the
one closest to Stavanger. It stretches over 2300 meters. You
can of course go further to one of the others, there are a lot to
choose from; Orre, Borre, Ølberg, Rege, Vigdel and Hellestø
Beach.
The beach is shallow and well suited for surfing. Each year the
Norwegian Surfing Championship is held here. There are rules
limiting the surf activities due to the vibrant wildlife.
