Vågen is the harbour area in Stavanger. Here are both the visitor’s port for private yachts and the main port for the cruise ships. The inner area of the port is reserved for the yachs and smaller boats. Further out on the western side of the port, you will find the cruise terminal and a dock area for tourist and sightseeing boats which offers cruise in the nearby fjords. This is also where you can book tours to Lysefjorden and the area below Preikestolen (The Pulpit Rock), famous from the end sequence of Mission Impossible 6. But Vågen is not only about boats. This is the area with the Fish Market and many of the restaurants, bars and nightclubs in Stavanger. Even some of the hotels are located her, like Hotel Victoria and Skagen Brygge. The area is bustling with life both during the day and in the evening. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants of all kinds. From exclusive high end restaurants like DB Sørensen and two star Michelin restaurant Re-Naa a bit further out, to affordable chain restaurants like Egon and Olivias. Many of these have great outdoor areas like the two above and the popular Hansen Hjørnet - perfect places to sit and watch the busy harbour. For cruise tourists Vågen is easy to find. When you disembark your ship, you are there !
